Asheville is located in Western North Carolina in the heart of the Blue Ridge and Smoky Mountains. The Blue Ridge Parkway National Park passes through Asheville with easy access into town from the Parkway between mileposts 375 and 395.  For Air Travelers, the Asheville Airport (AVL) is 13 miles south of Oakland Cottage, just off I-26.  The Charlotte NC International Airport (CLT) is 125 miles east and Knoxville, TN  is 110 miles west. We are 80 miles from either Greenville/Spartanburg (GSP) airport in SC or the Tri City Regional Airport (TRI) in Johnson City, TN. Atlanta is only a four hour drive away. Oakland Cottage B&B is two miles north of I-40, Exit 50, giving Oakland Cottage bed and breakfast a convenient location in the heart of Asheville, one mile south of downtown, one mile norht of the Biltmore Estate entrance and blocks from Asheville-Buncombe Technical College (AB-Tech) and Asheville Mission Hospital.

From I-40, traveling East, take Exit 50 / traveling West, take Exit 50 B

Total Distance from the I-40 Exit to Oakland Cottage is just over 2 miles

• Follow exit ramp signs towards "A-B Technical College" & "The Biltmore Estate", heading North on US 25 after you exit
• Get into and stay in the right-hand lane as you head towards downtown Asheville (once you have crossed the Railroad Tracks, you may get into the left-hand lane)
• Stay on Biltmore Ave. for about 1 more mile until you come to the Mission Memorial Hospital emergency exit
• At a traffic light and just past the emergency exit, turn left onto Hospital Drive
• Get into immediate left lane and turn left at traffic light onto Victoria Road
• After stop sign, continue for about 4/10 mile on Victoria Road
• Turn right onto Oakland Road (just past the big brick sign on the right, "111 Asheville Orthopedics"). There is a covered bus stop sitting area on the corner of Oakland and Victoria.
• 74 Oakland Cottage is approximately 200 yards on the right side of the road. Look for the white sign, 74 Oakland Cottage, in the front yard. Oakland Cottage is a large white house with green trim.
• Ample complimentary parking is in the circular drive area in front of & beside the cottage. Be sure and leave enough room in the circular drive for others to pass through. Extra overflow parking is to the left side of the house as you face Oakland.

From I-240, take Exit 5B

• Take the Charlotte Street Exit (South).
• Stay on Charlotte Street until you come to Biltmore Ave (Charlotte Street becomes Southside Street after crossing Biltmore Avenue).
• Turn left onto Biltmore Ave.
• Go 3 traffic lights and turn right onto Hospital Drive (near the emergency exit for Mission Memorial Hospital).
• Get into immediate left lane and turn quickly left at traffic light onto Victoria Road.
• After a stop sign continue for about 4/10 mile on Victoria Road.
• Turn right onto Oakland Road (just past the big brick sign on the right, 111 Asheville Orthopedics). There is a covered bus stop sitting area on the corner of Oakland and Victoria.
• 74 Oakland Cottage is approximately 200 yards on the right side of the road. Look for the white sign, 74 Oakland Cottage, in the front yard. Oakland Cottage is a large white house with green trim.

From I-26 heading West (and from the Asheville Airport)

• I-26 West will merge with I-240 towards Downtown Asheville.
• Take the Amboy Road Exit #1C.
• At the end of the exit ramp, continue on Amboy Road for approximately 1 mile.
• At Traffic light and T-intersection, turn right onto Meadow Road (it is Lyman Road to the left and Meadow to the right)
• Go approximately .8 mile on Meadow Road
• At traffic light, turn left onto Victoria Road, following signs to AB-Tech Campus
• Go approximately .8 mile on Victoria Road
• Just past the Smith McDowell Museum and an AB-Tech parking lot on your left, turn left onto Oakland Road (covered bus stop on corner of Victoria and Oakland Rd)

From I-26 heading East

• As you approach Downtown Asheville on I-26 East you will come to a bit of a tricky section - stay alert and get into the left lane which will merge onto Patton Avenue (right lane will keep you on I-26, middle lane will merge onto I-240)
• Stay on Patton through Downtown Asheville
• At the Pack Monument, turn right onto Biltmore Avenue (Broadway St is to the left, Biltmore Ave to your right)
• Go approximately 1.5 miles south on Biltmore Avenue
• Turn right onto Hospital Drive.
• Get into immediate left lane and turn left at traffic light onto Victoria Road.
• After a stop sign continue for about 4/10 mile on Victoria Road.
