Oakland Cottage is popular to reserve as a "whole house" for groups during family reunions, girlfriend weekends, couples' retreats, cycling vacations, small retreat-style meetings, and lodging for wedding groups (and small intimate Asheville, North Carolina weddings may be held at Oakland Cottage - extra fees apply). When Oakland Cottage is not available for your special group, do try The Historic Brigman House and BreakAway Cabin - also available year round for whole house reservations.

With its proximity to the Blue Ridge Parkway and other fantastic rural North Carolina bicycling routes, Oakland Cottage is often reserved by cycling clubs or groups. Groups enjoy working with Chainheart Cycling Studio for extra support of varying degrees- a biker's boutique.

Oakland Cottage may be reserved all-together in one of two ways:

1) With Full Services - rates include daily maid service, housekeeping, & delightful full breakfast each morning - see below for details.

2) Self-catering Style Accommodation - or without daily services, "a la carte" style - a popular option for families and many groups. Without full services, Oakland Cottage is available to reserve by the week as well as by the day - see below for details.

Oakland Cottage A La Carte option

Reserving all of Oakland Cottage "a la carte" or self-catering style (much like a vacation rental)

Many groups have enjoyed the added privacy & independence of having all of Oakland Cottage without daily housekeeping, maid service, & breakfast. While the Innkeeper is still on-site in the private-entry "Innkeeper's" apartment, you are really on your own and "taking care of yourself" during your stay.

Enjoy full use of the main kitchen during your whole-cottage gathering when reserving "a la carte" style. Complimentary Guest Laundry Room is also on property.

Whole-Cottage Reservation Policies:

Whole-Cottage Rates without services are based on a flat & fixed rate for up to 20 guests. No matter how small the guest, 20 is the maximum occupancy, no exceptions. Children & infants are considered in the guest count!
2-night minimum stay requirement on weekend nights, except for some last-minute bookings, based on availability, or "pinch nights" with bookings around a weekend night
5-night minimum requirement on some holiday weeks such as Thanksgiving & Christmas
Children and infants are welcome, and the suites are wonderful for families
Pets are especially appropriate with whole-house reservations, and are welcome with a $10/pet per night fee, not to exceed $50 per pet per stay. Guests must abide by and agree to our pet agreement.
Reservation & Cancellation policies: In order to hold a "whole house" reservation, 50% of the full payment is due. This amount is refundable except for a $35 booking fee, up until 60 days prior to the reservation date. Within 60 days of the reservation date, full payment is due and is no longer refundable.
While we do not provide Traveler's Insurance, we do recommend it if your travel plans are not firm. We have a few insurance companies that we are can recommend.
When reserving all of Oakland without the full services, acceptance of our Rental Agreement is required.

Catering and Event Services at our Bed and Breakfast, Inn, Cabins and Vacation Rentals

While we do not handle functions or catering, we are happy to recommend a few fantastic local event venues, caterers & event planners. The nightly rental rate charged for overnight stay at the property does not entitle the rentor to hold a function at the property. However, some of our properties may be ideal for certain types and size of function and special events may be arranged through an application approval process, along with fees collected by Vacation-In-Asheville. Should you wish to hold an event at one of our Asheville Vacation Rentals or Bed and Breakfast, venue costs begin at $200 per event for up to 50 day guests. The venue fee does not include any other services. The day guest count includes the overnight guests plus any additional day guests who may attend, up to 50 total guests. If more than 50 guests, up to 100 may attend at an additional rate of $10 for each additional guest. All event plans must be approved by Vacation-In-Asheville. If extensive catering is contracted by the guest, caterers must be approved by Vacation-In-Asheville; a 5% upcharge will be added to all catered fees. Vacation-In-Asheville will handle all permit requirements, should there be any needed; all city and/or county ordinances must be complied with, such as quiet hours which begin at 10 pm.
